Two lost pyramids in Grescal

First of all, here are my hints about finding the pyramids:

Here are some hints for finding two lost pyramids in Dungeon Siege in Utrean Peninsula. Each hint does work. You just need to follow the instructions from one of them to find the first pyramid, the Lost Pyramid of the Spirits. The way to find the second pyramid, the Lost Pyramid of the Dead, is described below these hints. But try to keep in mind that when you are trying to follow my directions, you always have to turn as accurately as possible or you will miss your way. And that the times aren't exactly exact =) but rather informative.

HOW TO FIND THE LOST PYRAMID OF THE SPIRITS

1)
Go to the centre of the basilicus (H.U.B.) in Grescal. Turn west and run that direction till you reach the Mesa Desert (it lasts approximately 72 seconds). Then turn south and run that direction. After 15 seconds you'll see 5 palm trees and two crates left of you (don't go there or you may miss the way). Continue running south and after 176 seconds you'll see a Resurrection Shrine. Go near the shrine. Turn in the direction the shrine is looking (Not exactly south but rather south-south-east. Just try to turn exactly in the same direction the shrine is looking.). Run in that direction and after 46 seconds you'll reach the first pyramid, the Lost Pyramid of the Spirits.

2)
Go to the centre of the basilicus (H.U.B.) in Grescal. Turn southwest and run that direction for 194 seconds. Then you'll see 3 impalers. Go in between the impalers, you can kill them but don't move away. From where the impalers are (or were, if you have killed them), continue running southwest. After 86 seconds, you'll find the petrified adventurer (See the INTERESTINGNESS below!). Run southwest for 51 seconds and you'll find the first pyramid, the Lost Pyramid of the Spirits.

3)
Start a new game at the town of Grescal (by hosting or joining the multiplayer game). Don't go away, just turn west and then run that direction till you reach the Mesa Desert (it lasts approximately 72 seconds). Then turn south and run that direction for 185 seconds. You'll encounter 3 Giant Lizards. Go in between the lizards, you can kill them but don't move away. Run south for 57 seconds. You'll find the first pyramid, the Lost Pyramid of the Spirits.
NOTE: Don't worry if you don't encounter the lizards. You'll just have to run a bit longer from Mesa Desert (Not 185 seconds but approximately 241 seconds, then you'll find the first pyramid, the Lost Pyramid of the Spirits.).

HOW TO FIND THE LOST PYRAMID OF THE DEAD

When you'll find the first pyramid, the Lost Pyramid of the Spirits, run round this pyramid and you should see the Mana Shrine and the tent just southeast of the south-eastern corner of the pyramid. Go into the tent, turn south and run for 11 seconds. Behind the dunes, you'll find the second pyramid, the Lost Pyramid of the Dead.

INTERESTINGNESS

NOTE: This isn't the hint for finding the pyramids.
Follow the second hint to find the petrified adventurer. Turn west and start running. Now, if you'll running west from the petrified adventurer for 181 seconds, you'll find it again (then you can open your megamap and you'll see that you have already explored the way to the west). That does mean that the region is built out in a way that the western edge is connected with the eastern edge so you'll never reach the end of the desert here (There are also some edges of the desert somewhere, but I am just describing you the part for which the desert worth the name the Endless Dunes, if you get my drift!). You can then run (to the west) for as many seconds or minutes (or hours) as you like, encountering plenty of petrified adventurers on your way…

And below are some hints about finding the pyramids I found on various Internet forums and websites:

The best hint for finding the Lost Pyramid of the Spirits I have ever read is here (it was published at GameWinners):

Hint: Finding the Pyramids in Grescal:
Turn on your audio and listen for wind. The wind signifies being near the Pyramids.
Information in this section was contributed by Sven Masterson.
To get to the lost Pyramids in Grescal, first go west for awhile to reach the Mesa Desert. After that, go south to reach a Resurrection Shrine. Next, go exactly in the direction that the shrines are facing (not exactly south but almost). After a few minutes you will reach the Pyramids.

Here is another hint for finding the Lost Pyramid of the Spirits from GameBanshee Forum:

The pyramids are an INCREDIBLE pain to find. Or at least I spent days wandering around endless dunes with a friend looking for them. Here's the big secret :P

The NPCs say it's way off to the SE in the desert... But the map is spherical.
So if you leave from Tess (or right outside the blacksmith) and head straight SouthWEST, you'll go right to the pyramids.

And some cool hints from SiegeNetwork Forum:

Ok here is the story:

First of all, it's advisable you AT LEAST have Hiroth/Grescal available as starting position. After that it COULD be handy if you had the Mesa Desert Displacer, but this can be obtained if you start in Hiroth, go through the Drake Nest, and just before you head left towards the Queen, go straight ahead and follow the path up. You'll notice a Legionairre Guard, a few MOBs, and the displacer just ahead. From there, follow the path down, and go west until you reach a giant foot IN THE GROUND, and not the foot ABOVE THE GROUND. Go to the middle of the toe, turn South on your Compass (make sure the arrow crosses the S) and start walking South. In a few minutes, you'll notice 3 Giant Lizards. This means you are quite close to the pyramids. Continue south until you see the first pyramid.
This is the Lost Pyramid of the Spirits, and is more of a pass-through to the Eastern Island, which is in my opinion a low-level-area. If you walk a few seconds south, you'll notice a tent and a mana shrine, after the dunes there is the Lost Pyramid of the Dead, which is really a quite interesting pyramid because it brings you to the Volcanic Caverns, which is under the whole Endless Dunes and Grescal cuz it's simply HUGE and filled with Maljin from the Utraean Catacombs (from the Hiroth Circle), Lava guys, and Abandoned Ruins MOBs. (the Eastern Island contains a lady when you go on an elevator which asks you: Have the Maljin wreaked havoc on your side yet?)

Hope more people now know where the fabled Pyramids are.

Personally I use the Northern Forest route (there are 2 routes to use) myself as I get bored running to the hills in the desert with nothing to look at or fight along the way. Plus I think I can actually get there just a tad quicker via the forest route.

Eastern Island: From Eldim's potion shop go north into the northwoods. Follow the river. It will turn west. keep following it and you'll end up on a path. Follow the path to the split. Turn north at the split and go up the stairs. The path will then turn east up another flight of stairs. Keep following the path. The path will take you up a ramp to Hovart North. Keep going east and you will see a ramp down. Head on down and keep going east. Follow the path east over 2 bridges. After the second bridge the path instantly turns south. Stop right there. You are very close now. Instead of following the path south, turn north. Right behind the foliage is a hill up one level of elevation. At the top of the hill you'll want to head northwest. You'll see a long tall ramp. Ignore it, it only goes to a dead end plataeu (sp?). Keep heading northwest but make sure you don't cross the river at any point. You'll either hit the river that runs east-west then turns north-south or the wall running east-west. All depending on which was greater the north or the west in your northwest direction. If you hit the wall, follow it west and you'll come across another hill you can go up. If you hit the river just follow it and you end up at the hill. Go up the hill and stop and fight the skeletons there. Your computer probably will be lagging by this point. You just go east into more skeletons and a couple mucosa I believe. And you'll see the tower. Go into the door and take the lift down. You are now in Eastern Island. From there turn north and go out the cave exit. You'll be standing on a ledge the heads east. From there you go straight east about 2 screen and you'll see the second tower to the Volcanic Caves. The lift is on the top floor. Ride it down and now you can fight a ton of majin and other baddies. Great Exp and a good challenge. Hope this was pretty easy to follow. Enjoy
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go southwest from the Grescal sign near the grescal hub. I've never missed from there. If you go to the south pyramid (pyramid of the dead) you miss Eastern Island and end up directly in the caverns.

For what its worth, I found this route the most foolproof. Turn SW at the sign and run for about 4-5 realtime minutes. Viola, SE corner of Spirits pyramid.

Post from Custer on PlanetDungeonSiege:

Due to popular request, I'm posting the directions on how to get to the Eastern Island via the Great Northern Forest - maybe having a thread devoted to the subject will make it show up on the "search" function, but otherwise, find it again by clicking on my name and looking at the list of threads I've started - I know I will!

If you are starting from the Iliaath Divide displacer, just outside the Ancient Crypts where you find the Elddim townstone, head west, down a few of the earth steps and then north past a few krug tents and west across a wooden bridge, to where a Legionnaire Guard is standing. (Or if you haven't activated that displacer, just run from Elddim following the signposts for the Ancient Crypts, until you reach him.) 40 yards northeast of the guard there is a signpost for "Great Northern Forest, 19" - follow it north past a small krug village on your left to a resurrection shrine and then follow the main path east and then north up an earth bank, and on up another earth bank, past another resurrection shrine, up another bank - and you reach the edge of the Great Northern Forest, and some grey wolves. Heading north, you very soon see a torch to your right - that marks the start of a path. Follow the path north, up some earth steps, and northeast to a longer wooden bridge, heading north still. Go across, and continue on that heading. If Elys was your guide she would follow the path over a bridge to the left, which is an equally good route, but my way is to go straight ahead instead, and up another earth ramp with a waterfall close by on either side. Continue north, skirting a high cliff on your left. You reach some barrels and a crate, well defended by krug - continuing north is a dead end, so head west - on a low cliff ahead you'll see some skeletons and the base of one of the two towers! Keep following the base of the low cliff - before long if you click on the higher ground your character will run ahead, up an earth ramp, and onto the higher level, to be greeted by skeletons and mucosa. Head east to the base of the tower - inside you'll find Loola, with a rather low-level selection of stock to sell you, and the elevator down to the Eastern Island.

If you're in the Elys version of the Utraean Peninsula, be sure to be on the northern edge of the platform, as a huge Oceanic Spider is waiting for you - in the regular version of the map, though, the Eastern Island is deserted, with only a few very low-interest chests and barrels. Take the back (northern) exit from the cave and turn right (east), and you'll soon reach the island's lone tower; the platform down to the lava caverns is on its top floor. Or instead turn right, keep right, and eventually you will come to the steps down into the corridor which takes you to the Lost Pyramids! The corridor does actually have one pretty good treasure chest in it. Emerge into the desert, turn right (north) and go to the corner of the pyramid; the heading for Grescal is northeast, it's a 6 minute run...you should hit the basilicus at Grescal, but if you do happen to miss, the wall is only another minute, and if you go left, you will soon find a signpost ("Town of Grescal, 17") to point you back to Grescal. The Grescal ruins are best navigated by keeping around to the left until you find the circular platform to take you down to where the action is.

If you go down into the lava caverns, though, my advice is, after the opening passageway with its maljin greeters, don't go across the rock-bridge, go right instead, and when you reach the end, not long after a health shrine, turn left down some stairs - that gets you to Loern Ignus, who carries a wide range of stock for you to buy from, including health potions, which you may well be in need of by then! Continuing on that way, past the ghosts, gets you eventually to the lowest area of the lava caverns, with plenty of drakes and other high-exp monsters and, if you follow a long and narrow rock path through the lava, you will find the elevator that goes up to the second of the two pyramids... and another pretty good treasure chest. Not as good as the four in the Grescal ruins, of course...

And this is that wooden bridge you need to cross...
