The five years between 2001-2005, were characterized by moderating response and intensification of emotions in the artist’s
inner world; the cyclamen flower and envelop were almost  totally consumed. The abstract picture was confined, becoming a
metaphoric landscape image of Jerusalem and its surrounding scenery. The colors in his earlier works which, with intense
finger and hand daubs, struggled for a place among the abstract and figurative components began to complement one another.
Black, grey and gold became dominant and formed rich works of art with layers of darker, more mature and more established
colors – controlled by melancholy and quiet beauty – with white, misty light and dark red usually emerging from beyond and from
the depth of the painting.
Two new, very significant, components appear in recent paintings, especially those painted between 2004 and 2005. The first is
the image of a lone figure in the vivid light and mist within the picture. The second component, coming from outside the painting
and linked to it as a relief made of metal or other flat material, is a head containing the image of a child-adult which is entirely an
open mouth, lamenting, crying and filled with yearning –is this the image of the artist?
Despite the fact that the paintings are dark, dominated by black, grey and gold, they radiate beauty and at first glance are
reminiscent of Renaissance style paintings.
