The
second exhibition: 1995 – 2000
Enter into the inner world of his
paintings: more expressive images and intense colors that depict the true
Jerusalem (in fact all
of Israel). In the years since the
Six-day War, Jerusalem is “occupied” – terrifying like a time-bomb, tearing
apart the Jerusalem
of dreams – especially in works
from 1999.
In 2000-2001 the artist’s works continued to emphasize this trend
and respond with the increasing intensity of the current reality.
His art
seemingly transformed. The envelope: (the memories) unlocked and assimilated
into the anxiety and the reality. The
cyclamen flower transformed
becoming carnivorous and threatening, the imaginary landscapes became scenery
filled with
tension, grief and anxiety.
