The neighborhood of my childhood and
adolescence: Beit Mazmil,
today known as Kiryat Yovel, lies
adjacent to Mount Herzl and
Yad V’Shem.
My deepest memories and the
melancholy welling from within me,
come from there: the surrounding
hills and down below amazing
Ein Kerem – its beauty wrapped in
green, my fields, the pine trees,
cypresses, rocks and cyclamen,
carpets of anemones, almonds
in bloom, olive trees, vines, fig
trees, carob, the wonderful nature
all around, the exceptional light,
all merging together there in the
mountain of tears – Mount Herzl and
Yad V’Shem.
These and more, have for years been
the source of my creativity.
The Jerusalem within me is my
creation.
For several years now, I have lived
in Beer Sheva, a town very
different in character and landscape
– a town where I have built
my home and loving family.
